More laminated glass, but no room for a second cutting line? The DSC-A+VB Combo Cutting solution expands cutting capabilities to include laminated glass without fundamentally changing existing production layouts. Float glass and laminated glass are processed on a single compact system, and existing LiSEC float glass cutting lines can also be retrofitted.
ONE SYSTEM INSTEAD OF TWO SEPARATE CUTTING LINES
In many glass processing operations, the share of laminated glass is continuously increasing. At the same time, existing production space must be used as efficiently as possible, while additional investments need to deliver maximum value.
This is exactly where the DSC-A+VB Combo Cutting solution comes in. It combines float glass and laminated glass cutting in a single solution. Instead of installing a separate laminated glass cutting line, existing cutting operations are enhanced with the required functionality.
A particularly attractive feature is its retrofit capability. Already installed LiSEC float glass cutting lines can be upgraded with a laminated glass cutting bridge and the necessary positioning functions. As a result, additional space requirements remain minimal.

HOW THE COMBO CUTTING SOLUTION WORKS
The system is based on the DSC-A cutting table for float glass, available with or without Low-E edge deletion, as well as a positioning device for laminated glass. It is complemented by a VB cutting bridge for laminated glass. This enables both glass types to be processed on the same system.
-
Automatic removal of foil overhangs
With the FASV function, foil overhangs are automatically removed directly at the DSC-A cutting head. This reduces manual intervention and supports consistently high edge quality. -
Fast foil separation with SIR heating technology
The patented SIR heating technology selectively heats the PVB interlayer and minimises thermal stress within the glass. For 44.2 laminated glass, heating times of only 7 to 10 seconds can be achieved. This helps reduce cycle times and improve process stability.
-
Higher output for applications with numerous Z-cuts
With the "Sequential Z Scoring" function, also known as automatic Z-scoring, Z-cuts can be prepared early in the process. While the system performs the next Y-cut, previously prepared Z-cuts can already be processed further. This improves collaboration between the operator and the machine while increasing overall system utilisation. - Automatic scoring of shapes
Shapes can also be scored automatically. Formats up to 5800 × 3210 mm can be integrated directly into the cutting process. Automatically scored shapes are processed immediately within the optimisation sequence, eliminating additional handling steps.

Summary
A growing share of laminated glass does not automatically require the installation of a second cutting line. The DSC-A+VB Combo Cutting solution combines float glass and laminated glass cutting on a compact system and allows manufacturers to expand existing capacities with maximum flexibility, including through the retrofit of existing LiSEC systems.
