Human and machine as a team in the laminating process

In many glass processing companies, the laminating process still involves intensive manual labour. This means physically demanding tasks, a high risk of errors and a significant time investment. But it doesn't have to be that way: targeted automation provides employees with effective support.

The path to efficiency – automation step by step

The challenges involved in the laminating process are manifold: physically demanding tasks, high manual effort, monotonous work and increasing quality requirements. This is exactly where our automation solutions come in. They specifically support individual work steps, relieve the staff and ensure consistently high quality – efficiently, precisely and reliably. The following steps show how automation can make the laminating process more efficient:

1. Ergonomic loading and unloading

  • Transport table (OCW)

Supported horizontal loading and unloading with stop rollers – gentle placement of the glass enables ergonomic working.

  • Tilting table

  • Supported vertical or horizontal loading and unloading via tilting - effortless loading of the glass protects your back and joints.

2. Gentle and effective glass cleaning

  • Washing machine (HWM)

Cleans the glass fully automatically, detects coatings and automatically lifts the brushes for sensitive surfaces – maximum safety and minimum errors.

3. Precise positioning

  • Positioning station (PST)

Aligns the glass precisely with on reference side – for minimal misalignment and high product quality.

  • Carry over lifter (COL)

Lifts the glass in the positioning area, transports it to the assembly area, and places it under or on the foil – precise positioning without manual intervention up to a package thickness of 100 mm.

4. Automatic assembly

  • Foil storage (FUW)

Up to 24 rolls are automatically unwound to the desired length and separated from the PE film – for maximum flexibility in terms of film types and widths.

  • Automatic foil positioning (FLA)

Lays out the foil automatically and evenly – for clean results without reworking.

  • Cross cut (FCC)

Cuts the foil at a precise right angle – work in a back-friendly manner while saving material at the same time.

5. SupportED trimming of the foil

  • Foil trimcut (FTC)

Automatic removal of protruding film edges on rectangular double laminated safety glass panes – for high efficiency.

  • Assembly table (AST)

Pop-up rollers make it easier to turn and edit shapes – ergonomic working for individual requirements.

6. Stable Pressing

  • Pre-nip oven (PNM)

Heats and parallel presses the glass-foil package using servo spindle presses, adjusted to the type, size and shape of the glass – for high product quality.

Summary: WHY AUTOMATION PAYS OFF

LiSEC automation solutions not only make the laminating process more efficient, but also safer and of higher quality. Less physical strain, fewer errors, higher output – that's modern glass processing at the highest level.
